Competition | There will be preliminary and final rounds in each grade. Participants may register in only one team and, therefore, only one grade. When registering the team, the team captain will advise what grade they would like to be entered into. If for logistical reasons re-grading is required, the organisers reserve the right to move teams up or down a grade. This may also be required if there are insufficient teams in any particular grade. Teams will play a full round robin of the teams in their grade. At the end of this, the top four teams in each grade will transfer to the Semi Finals to determine which two teams will compete in the Grand Final. |
Umpires and score keepers | Each team must provide an umpire who has at least a New Zealand regional badge or higher or the overseas equivalent and a scorekeeper. For hygiene reasons each umpire must also provide their own whistle. A training session will be held on Sunday 13 March for all umpires on Netball New Zealand rules. All umpires must attend this session. The venue and time will be advised after registrations have closed. |
Rules | This tournament will be played under the rules of International Federation of Netball Associations (IFNA). Teams may have up to 12 players maximum |
Sanctioning | The netball competition will be sanctioned by Netball New Zealand. |
