Bridge is one of the confirmed sports that will be held during the 2nd AsiaPacific Outgames.

Host Club

The Kairangi Bridge Club is located in Miramar, home of Peter Jacksons studios and the Weta workshop. The club is affiliated to New Zealand Bridge. The Kairangi Club rooms can accommodate 22 tables (44 pairs or 22 teams).

Competition


There will be a 3-day bridge competition played under the New Zealand Contract Bridge Association rules. There will be two days of pairs followed by one day of teams play.

Day 1 (Pairs play) is a general qualifying day.
Day 2 (Pairs play) the draw is divided into a top half and a bottom half for the 2 sessions on day 2.
Day 3 (Teams play) using the SWISS format. Further information with regard to the number of rounds, and number of boards per round, will be advised once the number of teams is known.

Transport

The Bridge Club can be easily accessed by public transport using one of the GO Wellington buses. Timetables area available at metlink.org.nz. You should allow 30-40 minutes travel time from the city CBD to Miramar via bus. A car/taxi is a 10- 15-minute drive.
